June 2024

After finishing my first year at Edge Hill University, I dedicated much of the summer break to starting my Small Business on Etsy. I launched the storefront selling handmade button badges dedicated to some of my favourite franchise, all with original designs, illustrated by me. Later down the line, I broadened my horizons to sell lino printed tote bags, with original designs not linked to any pre-established franchise. By tapping into previously unfulfilled niches, I am consistently able to generate new markets across a variety of customer demographics.

As with all businesses, some products have been more successful than others - however, for the most part, my shop has been very successful, amassing over 400 sales and a consistent 5-star rating! Customer feedback regularly praises the products, and expresses gratitude for the additional freebies and careful packaging of each order.

My business has also granted me opportunities to connect with other artists and organizations: In 2024, I donated items to the League of Gentlemen Charity Event (held commemorate the series’ 25th Anniversary), and both sold and donated products for Edge Hill’s Big Geek Fundraiser in 2026 - my first experience vending at an in-person social event!

I’m grateful for all the support my products have received, and plan to continue selling products in the future. Although my store is on hiatus at the moment, I have plans and ambitions for where and how I want to expand my business in the future… so watch this space!
